With proper maintenance, a good pair of shoes can last for years, a pair of Feraggios for a lifetime. In this guide, you will find everything you need to know in order to take care of them and make sure that they remain your life partners for as long as possible.

In general, always store your heels away from light and heat, protect them from rain and moisture, and avoid contact with abrasive surfaces.

Each material requires special precautions, which you can find in the following guide:

2. THE FERAGGIO ‘KEEP THESE HEELS PERFECT' SPRAY

3. THE FERAGGIO ‘SUEDE BRUSH’

4. THE FERAGGIO ‘SUEDE SPONGE’

1. THE FERAGGIO 'KEEP THESE HEELS FOREVER' SPRAY

This spray will help protect your suede heels and resist water as well as dirt. We recommend spraying two coats when using for the first time with time to dry overnight. Spraying shoes regularly maintains a constant level of protection. As an alternative, you can buy a good water/stain protector spray at any high-end shoe store or cobbler.

Directions: hold can upright 7 to 8 inches from your shoes and spray evenly all over. Use in a well-ventilated area, away from heat and flame. Allow to dry 1 hour at room temperature. We recommend a second spray session on new shoes.

2. THE FERAGGIO ‘KEEP THESE HEELS PERFECT SPRAY’

This spray will cleancondition, and restore the nap of your suede shoes, since it is specially designed to remove stains and spots.
As an alternative, you can buy a suede cleaner/stain remover spray at any high-end shoe store or cobbler.

Directions: brush suede or nubuck to remove dirt. Shake well, hold can 15-20 cm away, and spray footwear evenly. Wipe clean with a soft, dry, color-fast cloth.
Note: light-colored suede will darken during treatment but will dry to the original shade.

3. THE FERAGGIO ‘SUEDE BRUSH’

The best way to keep your heels clean is to use a suede specific brush. The Feraggio brush is specifically designed to restore and clean suede. It removes dirt and sand and raises the nap of the suede to its original appearance.
As an alternative, you can buy a suede brush at any shoe store or cobbler. Or you can use a soft damp cloth.

Directions: to remove dirt, use the nylon bristle side of the brush for suede, rubber nips for nylon upper, pointy corners for seams, and rounded edges for heels. To restore the original appearance (once dirt is removed), carefully and with soft strokes, use the nylon side to brush the entire suede surface in one direction. Always use the same color heels or clean the brush before using it.

4. THE FERAGGIO ‘SUEDE SPONGE’

Magnetic cleaning sponge lifts everyday dust and surface dirt, stopping the build-up. As an alternative, you can buy a suede sponge at any shoe store or cobbler.

Directions: use the broad side of the sponge to stroke softly over the suede. Always stroke in the same direction. Always use the same color heels or clean the brush before using it.

The process of protecting your suede is simple, but the material is more delicate, so it needs to be done regularly.
Brush your heels with the suede brush after every use or at least on a regular base when you wear them often; this will revive the nap and remove any excess surface dirt that may have accumulated. Then spray all over with the suede protector spray. Once again, spray regularly to keep the level of protection constant.

Feraggio Brushes Included in Care Kit

In case of more serious stains, we strongly suggest you not try to remove them yourself, because you could risk having to throw your shoes in the bin. Rather take them to a good cobbler: they will have a much better set of skills and tools at their disposal.
For milder stains, please use on the suede a cleaning brush or suede sponge. Once you have removed stains, brush up the nap with your suede brush and re-spray with the protector spray.

Also included in the suede care kit, a pair of shoe trees:

SHOE TREES

Another usefull thing that you will receive with your Care Kit is a set of unique pointy-toe shoe trees. When you take your heels off at the end of the day, put the shoe trees in carefully, and the next day, take them out. Putting them in when they still have the warmth of your feet will ensure the correct shape. Do not let them in all the time cause it will affect the width of your shoe! When traveling, then put them in so they will arrive safely.
As an alternative, you can put in some tissue paper, and that will have the same effect.

3. CARE TIPS FOR GLITTER

The glitter finish may wear off with wear and abrasion. This is not a fault; the glitter finish cannot be re-applied. We advise against treating with any liquids containing alcohol as this will damage the finish. Clean the product by gently wiping it with a soft damp cloth and dry it immediately.

•
Do not use any cleaning products.

  • Keep the upper material cleanand dry by using a soft brush.
  • Protect your unique glitter pair fromrain and moisture.
  • Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces.

4. CARE TIPS IN GENERAL

If your shoes do get wet, try to absorb as much moisture as possible before leaving to dry naturally. You can then deal with watermarks once they are thoroughly dried. Do not leave your heels in the sun: this will fade the color. Keep them cooldry and well aired.

Avoid harsh chemicals because they will damage both color and material. Keep your cleaning as natural as possible.

If you get mud on them, leave it to dry before brushing off in a sweeping motion, again, so that you do not just brush the dirt around the shoe.

Please note the soles are made out of leather and will wear off with wearing. Any good cobbler can replace the damaged part of the sole on the bottom of the shoe. This is not a manufacturing defect; it is a natural process and part of the normal wear of the shoes.

Please note that every Feraggio shoe is entirely handmade; therefore, tiny imperfections are possible. We strongly recommend to our Feraggio lovers to consult a professional cobbler or a shoemaker for specific care advice.

That's all for now! You can be sure that your Feraggios will be really grateful for the care you devote to them, and they will accompany your feet for years!
